By the time we reach October 1st, it already feels like the holidays! I love the change in the lighting, the cool nights and mornings, and the smells that come with the season changing. October always marks our big event, Activate. This year, we have opted for a virtual event. It was a difficult but necessary decision, and we have worked hard to make this a life-changing experience for our attendees. This has been a year of big things.

Back in December 2019, the Lord spoke to my heart. One of the things He said was that we were at the precipice of the largest revival the world had ever seen. In February 2023, at Asbury University in Wilmore, Kentucky, a routine chapel service turned into a prayer and worship gathering that went on day and night for more than two weeks. I thought for sure that was part of it. As we heard of millions of Muslims coming to Jesus through dreams, I thought for sure that was revival. As the United States seemed to be moving politically closer to embracing the Christian faith again, I thought for sure that was revival.

And then September 10th happened. A young man of just 31 who had become known around the world for his love of the United States, his passion for giving the youth of America a voice, a mission, and a community, and most of all for his sold-out faith in Jesus Christ — his intelligence and ability to share his thoughts through words and debate, a true gift from God — was assassinated in front of the world. A deep grief and sadness fell across millions of people. And at the same time, something powerful was released: a righteous anger, a mantle being picked up, a call to meet the Jesus that Charlie so often shared. People began speaking out, praying, and shifting. Online prayer gatherings, in-person vigils and worship concerts, marches with millions of people around the globe — voices rising to declare, “Charlie, we will finish your mission.”

Then his memorial, watched live by millions all over the globe: heads of state speaking about their faith and Jesus on the world stage. An altar call, a worship concert, and prayers. In a world where we have seen death, murder, lockdowns, cancel culture, riot culture, and mob mentality, this angry army — this angry mob — went to their knees. They called for peace and forgiveness and for hearts to turn to God, a loving God who calls to them. A God who denounces hate and violence of any kind. A God who says that ALL people have worth and value and a voice. A God who says, “Love your neighbor as yourself” (Mark 12:31, NIV).

And yet, while many bowed their knees, others took to the internet to celebrate his murder, calling him hateful, claiming he sought to disenfranchise millions. But those who truly knew him know that he treated people with love and respect and always pointed them to Jesus. The only entity on earth that celebrates death is the demonic. Since we know and believe that every life is made in the image of God, that behavior is not their true identity. Those people need revelation and prayer. For we already know, “we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms” (Ephesians 6:12, NIV). And we are all in for the fight — with love, and with the Word of God as our sword and shield.

Now I know without a doubt: THIS IS REVIVAL. God uses everything the enemy launches against us for His good. Nothing goes to waste. This tragic event that will be written into the world’s history books will also be the catalyst for God to become known to millions around the globe, for voices to rise up, and for more people to become unafraid of sharing their faith.

I have always felt passionate about what we do in KA. I have always felt called to help people grow and become who God designed them to be — to help them see their true identity, and then mobilize them to take action on that faith. We need everyone. We need regular people, not just pastors and preachers. We need you.

God was already shifting my heart about the way we deliver the resources He has given us to do our part. Now we have absolute clarity. We are even more emboldened to invite more people into the deep — the glorious, crazy depths of a life with Jesus. The wild reshaping of your perspective on yourself, others, and the world at large.

When you change yourself, you change the world. This is what we have been sharing for half a decade now. And we won’t stop.

We are a community of people who want to grow, who want to be in community with others, and who know that they need others to help “spur them on” (Hebrews 10:24, NIV). We are shepherds and teachers and lovers of Jesus. We are not just a place to coexist with others — there are plenty of those. We are not just a group where you can network — we are that too. We are the place where you can leap. Quantum leap from who you were into who God created you to be. You will be loved on, you will be stretched, you will be taught and nudged and prayed over, and you will change. It’s a guarantee.

KA is a holy place filled with imperfect people all journeying together to do our part and to make an impact. And you, my friend, that is what you were made for too. So join us. Come to the place that will feel like home. Engage, reach out, and connect. There is someone who needs you, your voice, and your friendship.

“Very truly I tell you, unless a kernel of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains only a single seed. But if it dies, it produces many seeds” (John 12:24, NIV).
