July: Freedom, Hope, and the God Who Dreams Bigger Than We Do

As we celebrate America’s 250th birthday, we remember that our deepest freedom, greatest hope, and highest citizenship are found in the Kingdom of God.

Happy Birthday, America.

I am wildly patriotic.

I know I am incredibly blessed to have been born in the United States of America, and I am proud to be an American citizen. As we celebrate the 250th birthday of this great nation, I find myself reflecting on just how remarkable this country really is.

Has America been perfect?

Of course not.

Like every nation in history, we have chapters we celebrate and chapters that grieve us. We have made mistakes. We have experienced injustice. We have endured division.

But despite everything, I still believe this is the greatest place on earth to live.

Millions of people around the world still dream of coming here. They long for the opportunities, freedoms, and possibilities that so many of us can easily take for granted. The American spirit that rose up nearly 250 years ago to fight for liberty and establish a sovereign nation is something that still inspires people around the world today.

But those were not new ideas.

Long before America declared its independence, Jesus proclaimed a freedom far greater than political liberty—the freedom found in Him.

Our Highest Citizenship

As believers, though, we belong to an even greater Kingdom.

While I am deeply grateful to be an American citizen, my highest citizenship is in the Kingdom of God.

That perspective changes everything.

As Kingdom citizens, I believe we have a responsibility to become everything God designed us to become. We should be people who overflow with hope, who lead with grace, who love generously, and who live differently because Christ lives in us.

“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” Romans 15:13

What would happen if Christians became known for overflowing with hope instead of fear?

What if we became known for our peace instead of our outrage?

What if we became known for our generosity instead of our criticism?

Those qualities may feel very American to me because I grew up in this country, but the truth is they originated in the heart of God long before America ever existed.

God Created Us to Create

The desire to dream wasn't born in America.

It was born in God's heart.

The desire to create, build, lead, serve, and leave a legacy was placed inside humanity by our Creator.

Every invention, every business, every ministry, every family, every beautiful work of art, every act of service, every dream that makes the world a little better begins with a Creator who created us to create.

We bear His image.

We were never designed to simply survive—we were designed to cultivate, build, steward, and multiply what He has entrusted to us.

Freedom Was Always God’s Idea

The longing for freedom didn't begin with the Declaration of Independence.

Long before there was an American Constitution, Jesus came proclaiming liberty to those held captive, healing the brokenhearted, and setting people free—not merely politically, but spiritually.

That freedom is available to every person in every nation.

Whether you live in the United States, Canada, Australia, South Africa, Europe, Asia, or anywhere else in the world, God has placed dreams inside of you.

He has created you intentionally.

He has gifted you uniquely.

He has called you purposefully.

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Jeremiah 29:11

Those words were written to God's people.

And today, they remind every believer that our future is secure because it is held in His hands.

That truth gives me enormous hope.

It also reminds me that freedom is never meant to be wasted.

Freedom Gives Us the Opportunity to Grow

Freedom gives us the opportunity to become who God designed us to be.

Freedom allows us to choose courage over comfort.

Freedom allows us to serve instead of simply survive.

Freedom allows us to build families, businesses, ministries, communities, and lives that glorify Him.

The Heartbeat of Kingdom Alliance

One of the greatest blessings of living in freedom is the opportunity to choose growth. Every day we have the opportunity to become more like Christ, strengthen our families, serve our communities, and build lives that reflect His goodness.

That is the heartbeat of Kingdom Alliance.

We believe Christian personal growth is one of the greatest ways we can impact the world around us.

Changed people change families.
Changed families change communities.
Changed communities change nations.

Here at Kingdom Alliance, that's exactly what we are committed to doing.

Every academy, every live call, every coaching program, and every conversation is designed to help people become more of who God created them to be.

Better leaders.
Better spouses.
Better parents.
Better disciples.
Better ambassadors for Christ.

Because when one life is transformed, families change.

Communities change.

Generations change.

Growth is stewardship.

The more we become who God designed us to be, the more people we can impact for His Kingdom.

A Prayer for This Independence Day

So as you celebrate Independence Day this year—whether you're watching fireworks, grilling with family, spending time with friends, or simply enjoying a day of rest—I hope you'll pause for a moment.

Give thanks.

Pray for your nation.

Pray for your leaders.

Pray for revival.

Pray that we would become people who reflect the character of Christ in everything we do.

God’s Dreams Are Bigger

And wherever you may be reading this blog from, know this:

God's dreams for your life are bigger than your own.

His plans are better than your plans.

His hope is stronger than your fear.

His freedom is greater than anything this world can offer.

Whether you are celebrating America's 250th Birthday here in the United States or reading this from somewhere else in the world, the invitation is the same: become everything God created you to be, live with hope, walk in freedom, and allow Him to use your life to impact others.

May God continue to bless the United States of America.

And may God richly bless you and your family as you continue becoming everything He designed you to be.

Happy Independence Day.

With love,
